PowerPoint Busway

PowerPoint Busway provides a uniquely effective way of distributing mains power in commercial and factory buildings.  By replacing conventional mains wiring systems, PowerPoint acts as a continuous electrical distribution board giving flexibility to add or change loads without the need for expensive modifications.  Simply plug in to the continuous PowerPoint trunking at sockets which are located every 150mm.

The PowerPoint system includes straight lengths, bends, tees and hangers and may be fed from any location.  The unique plugs are factory fitted with fuse holders, circuit breakers or almost any device to suit your needs.

PowerPoint can be used as a horizontal or vertical power feeder in high rise buildings, where space for conventional cable systems is limited or where low levels of electromagnetic radiation are required.

Installation is simple and fast and in addition to this, the installed cost of a PowerPoint system is generally less than conventional cable systems.

In service since 1971, PowerPoint has been proven to be a long lasting and reliable system powering industry, telecommunications and commerce.  PowerPoint is used worldwide and is built by Intertech Engineering to Australian and International standards.

Electrical Features

• Conductors are manufactured from 99.9% pure electrical grade copper providing high conductivity.
• 3 phase, neutral and earth as standard.
• Range from 100A to 700A per phase with full or half neutral.
• External solid copper earth.

Plugs are factory fitted with the following options; fuseholders, miniature circuit breakers, moulded case circuit breakers, earth leakage circuit breakers, pendant sockets, pull cord switches or single or three phase sockets.  We manufacture any configuration to suit your requirements and also supply blank plugs.

Plug contacts are silver plated for low resistance and rated to 125A.  Above 125A, special plug units or fixed take offs are available.  All plugs fit all PowerPOINT systems.  Plug design ensures that earth contact is made first on insertion and last on removal.

Fault rated to 18kA for 0.1 sec for the 250A PowerPOINT system, but higher ratings can be provided by a combined fuse switch unit - factory installed into the PowerPOINT feed.

Special Equipment such as MI cable feed units are available.

PowerPoint emits low levels of Electro-Magnetic Resonance.
Test Results are available on request.

Mechanical Features

• Press formed construction
• Plug in points every 150mm
• Plug and socket handing to prevent plug from being inserted the wrong way
• Feeder sections fitted with blank covers

Plug in points are either left open or protected by individual steel covers or plastic clip on covers.

Plugs, depending on size, are fitted with spring clips to prevent accidental removal.

Three hanging brackets are supplied with each standard (3.66m) length of PowerPoint busway. End and centre feed units and special components such as CFS feeds are supplied with additional support brackets.

Standard finish is an orange powder coat; however other colour options are available on request.
