PFT Leak Detection Success - May 2011
Intertech has sucessfully completed their first PFT Leak Detection project in Australia using the Utilise detection method. The fluid leak of approx. 1L per day was found to be at the corner of Flinders and Russell streets in the Melbourne CBD and was located to within 1.5m. Intertech's specialised jointing team carried out the repair of the leak and the circuit is now back in service.
PFT Leak Detection is suitable for use on oil or gas cables and can find leaks as small as 0.7L per day. One of the major advantages of PFT Leak Detection is that leaks can be found without having to excavate. It is therefore especially beneficial in busy metropolitan areas such as Melbourne.
